I have a desire to transform light and create art with my images. I find myself laying awake some nights with my head spinning as to how to perfect my technique. However there is no perfecting art…It just evolves. My style is bold, vivid, up close & personal. I love to capture the moments you may not see-like the anticipation in the moment before you kiss, the crowd holding their breath. I am a child of the 80’s who always dreamed of marrying Rick Springfield, moving to Australia and living happily ever after…Enter Jeremy, the man of my dreams-husband extraordinaire…Plans have a way of changing sometimes. My passion for photography is a part of me. A part that can never disappoint, one that makes me happy and lets me relive the unscripted moments that matter most in life… Cameras are like boyfriends…You always remember your first. My first camera was a Kodak 110. I loved taking pictures as a kid and my passion spilled over into documenting my life, my loves and my story. It was Jeremy who pushed me into the digital age in 2001 with an Olympus E20. I was very resistant at first-actually terrified to be honest. I took it to Turks & Caicos a month later and fell madly in love and embraced all the digital age had to offer. I currently reside in Greencastle, IN with Jeremy, our two kids Parker & Fia and our two perros Sam & Amstel. However, our passports never reside in Indiana long enough to collect dust as I love to travel and believe I am truly home when I am on a beach in the Caribbean with flip flops and my camera. My father used to call this “Goitis”…I call it a thirst for adventure, to see the world, to tell the greatest stories of all time-not with a pen and paper but with my camera. Let me go with you to tell your story…wherever the destination might be. Our Story... All because she wanted a Smith's Louder Than Bombs CD... We meet "the one" in so many random places and ways...it is actually quite amazing when you think about it. Would I have missed this opportunity had I decided to go to any other record store than the one Jeremy owned...? I don't know and I certainly am glad I did not tempt fate on that August evening in 1994. Thinking I was just going to check out and go listen to my new purchase I started to leave...unbeknownst to me Jeremy was doing his own checking out! He said don't leave we could talk a while...An hour later after being drilled about my beliefs, my job and my family he asked me out. I thought is this guy for real...? Oh well it will be a interesting evening at the very least. So a date was made for 9:00 that night-late dinner and flying (he is a pilot). Needless to say we both discovered something that night and our love story has continued now 15 years later. We went with our gut emotion, we got lucky, we found each other and we were both smart enough to realize it. I honestly don't know where either of us would be today had I not walked through that door and Jeremy never let me exit...
